Military Series | Live and Learn

First one in, last one out.

A Marine drill instructor in his campaign cover leans toward the viewer with a knowing grin, rendered in bold, painterly blocks of olive, sage and forest green that echo woodland camouflage. Warm flesh tones and the earthy brown of the iconic hat cut through the greens, drawing the eye straight to that unmistakable expression.

Below the portrait, a typewriter-style quote from R. Lee Ermey reads: “I firmly believe that you live and learn, and if you don’t learn from past mistakes, then you need to be drug out and shot.” A hand-lettered “Semper Fi” in Marine Corps scarlet and gold anchors the lower right, and the white “Ghost” signature is printed in the lower left.

From the Military Series, its tall vertical composition brings no-nonsense motivation to an office, home gym, study or man cave, and it makes a memorable gift for Marines, drill instructors, veterans and anyone who lives by hard-earned lessons.

Each canvas carries the artist’s “Ghost” signature as part of the printed artwork. For a hand-signed piece, please contact us through our Contact page with your order number and full name, and we will coordinate the details, including complimentary return shipping. Should you prefer this piece on eco-friendly, professional art-grade paper rather than canvas, please follow the same process through our Contact page, including your order number, full name and the title of the artwork, and we will arrange it for you.
